Our Sanibel Fishing Charters have been good most days; however the best bites have been early mornings and night. We have some tarpon still around, as well as good numbers of bull sharks. Our fishing charters have caught redfish and seatrout on the flats near Sanibel and Captiva Island. Snook are biting great, especially at night. Our fishing charters have caught fish near the dock lights with both fly and spinning gear quite a bit this summer and we haven’t had a slow night yet!
The water around Sanibel Island has been very dark in color due to freshwater releases from Lake Okeechobee. I have been fishing further north to avoid this stained water, and it has been paying off.
Back Country and Sanibel Fishing Charters on the Horizon
Redfish will begin schooling in a month. September and October are my favorite months for backcountry fishing. We have the water to ourselves and phenomenal fishing.
