Weather has been awesome on Sanibel Island! We have been able to wear shorts and flip flops many days in January. As long as our water temperatures stay high, we will continue to experience excellent fishing. Catch and release snook fishing has been awesome due to the water temperatures in the mid 70s. “Schoolie” snook- in the 2-3lb range have been plentiful, and we have been catching decent numbers of big fish- especially for winter. I have been catching Snook, seatrout and jacks on most fishing charters. There are some redfish around, but not as many as usual for this time, so the snook fishing has been the highlight. If we start getting cold fronts, seatrout, redfish, jacks and snapper will be our primary targets on Sanibel fishing charters. Until then, I will be chasing big snook!
