I apologize for my lack of frequency with my blog posts. Every time I make a post on my website, I plan on making another post within a week or so. But that doesn’t happen very often. Instead, I end up waiting weeks to make a post, and then have hundreds of photos to go through and pick a few dozen that I like best. I average 6 full days on the water during season, as well as one day spent “keeping up” with my boat, tackle, etc. I have very little time to sit down and update my website. If you want more up to date info, please find my Facebook page, I post pictures more frequently.
Fishing in August can be hit or miss. We have some incredible days, and some slow days. The water is warm so the fishing is generally best early mornings and evenings. When we have a good day, we have some truly incredible fishing. Generally if the weather is good, we have good fishing. Tarpon fishing has been very good lately, as long as the weather cooperates. I have landed over 100 tarpon on my fishing charters since April and we will land many more over the next 2 months. We have also been catching some very nice snook on recent charters.
Redfish schools are starting to move in and they will be the primary target on Sanibel fishing charters for the months of September and October. The next two and a half months will provide us with the best fishing of the year for all of our species.
I am generally on the water almost every day so if you have any questions or would like to book a charter, please call or text me anytime at (239)989-9352 and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
